Every listen button plays an included MP3; nothing is sent online. About half the clips use a voice from Spain and the rest a Mexican Spanish voice, so you will hear both accents. The main audible difference: Spain pronounces z and ce/ci like English “th”, Mexico like “s”. Both are correct. Some older story recordings keep their original narrator.
